Avenue Capital Group was founded in 1995 by Marc Lasry and Sonia Gardner. Mr. Lasry and Ms. Gardner have successfully invested in the public and private debt and equity securities of distressed companies across a variety of industries for over two decades. The Firm's primary focus is investing in distressed debt and other special situations investments in the United States, Europe and Asia. Headquartered in New York, the Firm has offices in Europe and Asia. Avenue maintains a well-developed infrastructure with extensive accounting, operations, legal, business development, investor relations, risk management, compliance and information technology departments.
