Neighbors helping neighbors
The AtmaGo mobile app by Atma Connect allows people in urban poor communities to share knowledge, advice and solutions with each other to better prepare for disasters and improve their access to water, food, and shelter. Through AtmaGo, over 50,000 peer to peer information exchanges have been made on issues of water, food, shelter, flooding, crime, fires, neighborhood problems, and health. AtmaGo is accessible by basic and smart phones, and desktop computers and allows its 30,000+ users to share real-time, place-based information on disasters and chronic needs. Since launch in 2015, AtmaGo has reached 30,000+ users in Jakarta, Malang, and Lamongan, and achieved 67% monthly average user growth. In 2016, AtmaGo will expand throughout Indonesia and launch in new regions to reach 100,000 users. By 2020 AtmaGo projects to reach over 10 million people. AtmaGo won the 2016 Amplify Urban Resilience Challenge and is supported by grants from the Cisco Foundation and individual donors.
