Ark Surgical is a privately-held Israeli medical device company that is commercializing the LapBox, a novel containment removal system. The LapBox provides an easy-to-use minimally invasive alternative to traditional, higher-risk open abdominal surgeries, enabling the safe and simple removal of large tissue using power or manual morcellation during laparoscopic surgery. The LapBox was developed in response to the FDA's request to develop a containment system to reduce the risk of cancerous tissue dispersion during laparoscopic morcellation surgeries. Within the surgical cavity, benign and in rare cases, cancerous tissue can fragment and spread. With our patented smart design, we offer the only secure, double-barrier tissue containment system that prevents tissue dispersion during morcellation. By combining our easy-to-use delivery technology with improved control and manoeuvrability, Ark Surgical tools enable gynaecologists to optimize laparoscopic surgery.
