Gendo, a London-based AI platform, has secured €1 million in pre-seed funding to transform how architects and designers bring their ideas to life. Led by Concept Ventures, the funding round also saw participation from Ascension Ventures, Carles Reina’s Baobab Ventures, and a group of AI and architecture experts.

Founded in 2022 by George Proud and Will Jones, Gendo offers a browser-based application that combines generative AI and machine learning models to assist designers in creating accurate visualizations of their work. The platform has already garnered interest from top architecture firms like Zaha Hadid Architects, KPF, and David Chipperfield Architects.

With the ability to turn 2D drawings, sketches, and text prompts into intricate visualizations in seconds, Gendo is revolutionizing the architectural visualization process. Architects and designers can easily edit and customize their designs, adding details like colors, lighting, and structural features with precision.

The platform's unique features cater specifically to the needs of the architecture and design industry, allowing users to add era-specific furniture, culturally appropriate clothing, and topographically correct trees with just a click. This level of control and specificity sets Gendo apart from mainstream generative image platforms.

The pre-seed investment will enable Gendo to enhance its AI tools, launch new features for architects and designers, and expand its London-based team. With a successful beta launch and early access availability, Gendo is poised to revolutionize the way architectural visualizations are created and utilized.

Concept Ventures and Baobab Ventures expressed their excitement about Gendo's potential to transform workplace productivity and deliver significant improvements to daily workflows in the architecture industry. The platform's founders, George and Will, were praised for their expertise in the AEC industry and their innovative approach to enhancing design processes.

Gendo's mission to streamline design work, foster creativity, and provide architects and designers with a powerful visualization tool is set to reshape the architectural landscape. As the platform continues to evolve and grow, the future of architectural visualization looks brighter and more efficient than ever before.
