Northern Arc Capital Limited, a non-banking financial company (NBFC), has secured a significant boost of USD 75 million from the Dutch development bank FMO. This investment, made through senior secured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) listed on the BSE, will fuel retail microloans, MSME loans, and green projects, aiming to drive sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion in India. With this deal, Northern Arc's total exposure from FMO reaches USD 125 million, solidifying its position in the financial landscape. Ashish Mehrotra, the Managing Director and CEO of Northern Arc Capital, expressed the company's dedication to transforming the financial sector for underserved individuals and businesses, highlighting the role of innovative platforms like nPOS and Nimbus in facilitating seamless loan processing and debt management. The partnership between Northern Arc and FMO signifies a commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and the growth of SMEs and microenterprises in India, enhancing financial inclusiveness across the country. This investment follows a previous funding round of USD 80 million from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), further strengthening Northern Arc's position in the market. With assets under management of INR 10,081 crore and backing from prominent equity investors, Northern Arc Capital is poised for continued growth and impact in the financial sector.
