On April 17, 2024, American robot manufacturer Boston Dynamics introduced the next-generation model of humanoid robots, Atlas. The company released a video introducing the robot on YouTube.
Unlike the previous models of Atlas robots, which were equipped with hydraulic drives, the new generation operates on electric motors. This expansion of capabilities has made the robot's limbs more agile, and its manipulators can now perform new grips.
The new Atlas robot will undergo testing with several clients, including Hyundai, which has invested in the project. Hyundai acquired 80% of Boston Dynamics in 2021 for $1.1 billion.
Stay tuned for more updates on this electrifying development in the world of robotics.
