Jago Coffee, a Jakarta-based mobile café chain, has secured a flavorful $6 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Intudo Ventures and BEENEXT Accelerate, with a dash of investment from ORZON Ventures and D Global Ventures.
Founded in 2020, Jago is a hyperlocal mobile company that uses technology to serve up fresh beverages to Indonesian consumers. With a fleet of fully-electric mobile cafés and skilled baristas, known as Jagoans, the company whips up beverages in minutes.
Customers can savor café-grade coffees through instant commerce, where they can order, pay, and receive their drink within a minute. For those on the move, Jago offers a delivery model that brings café-quality coffees to doorsteps in under 15 minutes.
To keep the coffee flowing, Jago utilizes strategically located depots to produce and package coffee for baristas. This system helps manage inventory and predict peak demand periods, ensuring customers get their caffeine fix when they need it.
With plans to cover 50% of Jakarta by the end of 2024, Jago is brewing up expansion. The company aims to increase depots from three to 15 and deploy 1,500 carts, up from 300.
Jago's co-founders, Yoshua Tanu and Christopher Oentojo, are leading the charge to bring quality coffee to more neighborhoods. With this fresh funding infusion, Jago is set to stir up the coffee scene in Jakarta and beyond.
