Peptobiotics, a Singapore startup, secures $6.2 million in series A funding to market its antibiotic alternative for the farming and aquaculture sector. The funding will help the company produce larger commercial volumes of its product to reduce antibiotics in the food supply chain. Peptobiotics aims to combat the overreliance on antibiotics in farming and aquaculture by using recombinant antimicrobial peptides. The round was led by Hatch Blue, with participation from Seeds Capital, Seventure Partners, GrainCorp Ventures, and Farmabase.
