Maruti Suzuki India has boosted the production capacity of its Manesar facility by 100,000 units per annum, aiming to double its capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum in the next 7-8 years. The expansion includes a new vehicle assembly line, bringing the total manufacturing capability at Manesar to 900,000 vehicles per annum. This move will enhance the company's ability to serve customers faster and manufacture up to 2.35 million units per annum.

Air India has acknowledged feedback on fabric issues with the new cabin crew uniforms designed by Manish Malhotra. Production for all cabin crew members will commence soon after considering the inputs received. The new uniforms were initially introduced for crew members of the carrier's A350 aircraft, with plans to distribute them to all crew members aligning with the transition to long-haul international service.

Indian technology startups witnessed a 60% decrease in layoffs during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. More than 2,000 workers were laid off, significantly lower than the 5,358 employees laid off by 43 companies in the first quarter of 2023. The decline in layoffs coincided with a reduction in venture capital, indicating a correlation between funding availability and employment stability in the startup ecosystem. Startup layoffs are often tied to funding rounds, with the expectation of fewer layoffs as funding rounds normalize this year.

Overall, these developments reflect the dynamic nature of the automotive, aviation, and technology sectors in India, showcasing a mix of expansion, adaptation, and resilience in the face of challenges and opportunities.
