Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has raced ahead to achieve a monumental milestone of over three crore production units, making it the fastest among Suzuki bases worldwide. In just 40 years and four months since the start of production in December 1983, India has become the second country after Japan to reach this remarkable feat, surpassing even Suzuki's home country in speed. The production spree took place at MSIL's manufacturing facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, and Hansalpur, with over 2.68 crore vehicles rolling out from Haryana and over 32 lakh vehicles from Suzuki Motor Gujarat. The iconic M800, a pioneer in India's mobility revolution, played a pivotal role in this achievement, alongside popular models like Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift, WagonR, Dzire, Omni, Baleno, Eeco, Brezza, and Ertiga. Hisashi Takeuchi, the Managing Director and CEO of MSIL, expressed pride in the workforce and value chain partners for their support in meeting customer needs. With India emerging as the world's third-largest passenger vehicle market, MSIL is gearing up to boost its annual production capacity to four million units by FY2030-31. Plans are underway to establish two new greenfield manufacturing plants in Haryana and Gujarat, each with a capacity of 10 lakh units, and expand the model range from 18 to 28 by FY2030-31. MSIL's commitment to 'Make in India' and its significant contribution to vehicle exports highlight its dedication to both domestic and global markets. The future looks bright for Maruti Suzuki as it continues to drive innovation and growth in the automotive industry.
