Social Alpha is a multistage innovation curation and venture development platform for science and technology start-ups that aim to address the most critical social, economic and environmental challenges. Social Alpha supports mission aligned entrepreneurs through a network of innovation labs, startup incubators, accelerator programmes, seed funds and market access mechanisms.
At Social Alpha, we believe that entrepreneurship has the potential to create deep impact and bring about a positive change in the lives of people and communities. We search for innovators who are willing to take entrepreneurial risk and support them as they build compelling solutions to fight poverty and address India’s intractable development sector challenges. Our support includes lab access, sandbox for pilots and validations, product management guidance, technical, business and regulatory expertise, assistance with market access and entrepreneurial mentoring. Some of these start-ups also receive grants (non-dilutive) as well as seed capital investments (dilutive) from Social Alpha and its co-investment partners. Social Alpha raises financial resources to support its programmes from a number of philanthropic, government and corporate partnerships. We primarily focus on science and technology innovations which usually involve high business risks but have the potential to achieve financial sustainability and a non-linear scale eventually. The objective is to create new markets and solutions that also work for the underserved and underprivileged, are affordable and accessible, without compromising on quality and user experience.
Since its inception in 2016, Social Alpha has nurtured more than 200 start-ups including 50+ seed investments.
