GCP is a lower mid market private equity firm focused on investing in UK SMEs valued between £10m and £50m.

GCP has an innovative and differentiated product because typically the firm provides all or the majority of the funding in any transaction. This approach avoids the level of risk that is incumbent in higher debt structures with GCP’s investment returns being driven by active value creation through, for example, buy and build, expansion into international markets and operational improvement.

GCP's funding structure enables SMEs to grow substantially as management teams are highly incentivised through an ability to retain more equity than the traditional private equity model. In addition advisors know that because GCP do not rely heavily on external bank debt there is real certainty of delivery.

GCP was founded by Bill Crossan in 1999. Bill led the spin out from Close Brothers in 2009 with fellow partners Garrett Curran and James Blake.

GCP currently manages £250 million of funds. It has 10 companies in its current portfolio.
