Partner in business Berk Partners, established in 1992, is an independent private equity investor in mid-size companies in the Netherlands. Berk Partners invests across industries with a preference for companies active in the food industry, active as supplier to the healthcare industry or active in innovative manufacturing. Given its origin Berk Partners particularly focuses on family businesses. Especially those which are Dutch (or have their headquarthers in the Netherlands), medium sized, successful and led by enterprising people. In most cases the companies operate in a niche market or have a leading position in the industry or at least have the potential to become one. Berk Partners is an active and involved shareholder, a 'partner in business'​. The investment amount (shares and subordinated debt) varies between €2 – 5 million. One of the distinguishing features of Berk Partners is its structure of entrepreneurial shareholders. The shareholders of the funds are mostly (former) entrepreneurs, all of which have a broad knowledge and extensive business experience in many sectors. Every shareholder brings in his own certain industry-expertise and thus can give a valuable contribution to the investments or even play an active role.
