Spinal Modulation
Spinal Modulation is developing its first neuromodulation product to provide an option for the millions of people living with chronic pain. Spinal Modulation was founded in 2004 by Mir Imran and Daniel Kim, MD. Mir Imran is a serial entrepreneur and founder of InCube Ventures. Daniel Kim, MD was a neurosurgeon at Stanford University and now practices at Baylor University. In late 2005, Spinal Modulation began operations inside of InCube Labs. According to the 2002 Health Assessment on the Prevalence of Chronic Pain, severe chronic pain, as defined by the IASP, is prevalent in 10% - 13% of the adult population. Limited treatment options exist for these patients and the burden to the healthcare system is unsustainable. Through careful observation of patient needs, engagement of world renowned physicians, and recruitment of top engineering talent, Spinal Modulation is developing its first product-- a novel neuromodulation device. This product is expected to address the shortcomings of current chronic pain products and help improve the lives of millions of patients living with this debilitating condition
