ProVivoX offers an efficient survival prognosis test to benefit breast cancer patients. Since cancer is a complex disease, our method relies on the relative expression of several biomarkers to predict patient survival and therapy response, analyzed using a validated multiplex method coupled with a high-end visualisation technique and specific statistical algorithms. This test is low-cost (200$, target price of 1500$), is an affordable alternative to presently available single-biomarker tests (4000$), and will be marketed to clinicians, pathologists, and patients alike. This assay has been successfully applied to lung, gastric, and bile duct cancer, and has been patented in the US, Canada, EU, Japan, and Australia. ProVivoX is entering a licensing agreement for this patent and will launch a state-of-the-art laboratory to identify sets of biomarkers relevant to breast cancer survival. Long-term goals include the development of similar tests for other cancer types. The survival information provided by this low-cost test will allow clinicians to determine the most effective treatment approach and will help patients make the right lifestyle choices.
