PainQx is able to accomplish this by reading EEG waves from a patient's brain and running the data through it’s proprietary algorithm to produce a pain score consistent with the VAS System. The PainQx system is currently being used as a clinical assessment tool in the research market for use as a scaled pain biomarker and placebo responder screen.
