Neon is a serverless, fault-tolerant, branchable Postgres database. It allows you to instantly branch your Postgres database to support a modern development workflow. You can create a branch for your test environments for every code deployment in your CI/CD pipeline. Branches are virtually free and implemented using the “copy on write” technique.
Neon offers a usage-based plan called Pro which is ideal for small-to-medium teams. With the Pro plan, you get up to 20 projects, unlimited branches, unlimited compute time, up to 200 GB of storage, and access to paid plan features such as project sharing, autoscaling (coming soon), and configurable auto-suspend compute (coming soon).
Neon storage is designed with cloud costs in mind and uses a multi-tier architecture to deliver on latency, throughput, and cost. It integrates a cloud object store such as S to push cold data to the cheapest storage medium and uses locally attached SSDs for low latency high-performance data.
