Available is a continuously-changing limited collection of Built-Out Portraits featuring maverick musicians. These larger-than-life dimensional paintings are a compilation of the painterly and asymmetrical illusion. The art is easily viewed in the day adding energy and powerful presence to any space. As an added benefit, under ambient low light conditions of the evening these paintings come to life to their full potential, revealing the electrifying drama of stage lights and dimly lit nightclub funk. The built-out paintings demonstrates that portraits do not always have to be a image of perfection but can encompass lumps, bumps, and assemblage to show dimension in the overall effect. The portraits with their seemingly asymmetrical faces come together when viewed from the front to capture a face of music. I work with 2 intentions: To stay loose and layer an ad-lib portrait with some abstraction, the other is to help keep the faces of music alive!
