EPIC Ventures is a premier early stage software and Internet infrastructure venture firm whose mission is to back entrepreneurs and companies positioned to lead the information economy of tomorrow. We bring the collective operational and financial experience of our partnership, our world class advisors, and our extensive network of technology industry contacts to engage and ensure our portfolio's success.
Our philosophy is very simple. We get results, we get exits. People, products and passion drive our time and resources.
EPIC Ventures was originally founded by Zions Bank and is headquartered in Salt Lake City. While we invest in the Mountain and Western states, we seek opportunities and invest in the Northeast and Northwest corridors of the United States. We are very active investors and seek board of directors representation in each of our investments. We have substantial experience on both private and public boards.
We have invested via four funds, Novell Ventures and a strategic Zions Bank fund. We create value for our Limited Partner Investors through dozens of M&A transactions and Initial Public Offerings (IPO's). Our Limited Partners include industry leaders in Banking, professional services and institutional investors. These LP's add much more than just financial support, they provide strategic opportunities to our portfolio companies as well as supporting our due diligence process.

I can share some insights about EPIC Ventures. Firstly, their leadership team, including Kent Madsen and Nick Efstratis as co-founders and managing partners, brings a wealth of experience. They have a diverse team, with key members like Jack Boren as a managing partner, Ryan Hemingway as a managing director, and several junior analysts like Thomas Fitzpatrick and Marcello De Antunano.
EPIC Ventures focuses on various sectors, including edtech, fintech, healthcare, SaaS, security, and others. This wide sector focus is beneficial for startups in different industries seeking funding and guidance.
From my experience, their approach is professional and thorough, though it's important to be well-prepared before approaching them. They look for innovative ideas with potential for significant impact. While their decision-making process can be rigorous, it's driven by their commitment to invest in promising ventures. Overall, my interaction with EPIC Ventures was positive, offering valuable insights into the venture capital world.
